Supplementary Environmental Impact Statement
Background
The Environmental Impact Statement document was available for public review and submissions to the Coordinator-General from 1 December 2007. The final date for submissions was 1 February 2008.
This review period provided members of the public, government agencies, community organisations and businesses, in Townsville and Australia-wide, the opportunity to state their views and make comment on the content of the document and the Townsville Ocean Terminal project in general.
Submissions received by the State and the issues raised therein were assessed and considered. As a result of issues raised in submissions, the State requested City Pacific Limited to undertake further investigations and respond to the issues via a Supplementary EIS.
This SEIS process was undertaken over several months with comprehensive input and consultation from specialist consultants, State and Local government agencies and other key stakeholders. The SEIS was lodged with the State Government on Tuesday 5 August 2008. For reference, the links to the SEIS document are below.
